I'm living outside of US but thinking maybe studying there. As other teenagers and young adult, I do pirating stuffs, lots. But my country gov does not care so it is quiet good, but I have a few questions for torrenting in US:
If I only download/leech from torrent but not seed back, would I still get sued? I read around Internet but everyone seems to have different opinion. Of course I understand it's still illegal, but would they fine you only for downloading?
The first method 'leech everything, seed nothing back' worked in Australia and NZ (I lived there for a while and also download a lots, never warning) but I dont know if it works in US. My friend got 2 warning letters because some one in the house forgot to shut down seeding. And in US when someone sues downloaders, would they give warning first or they just gonna sue you?
Btw, sorry If you feel offended for 'seed nothing back', I do seed when I in my home country. Just to be safe, I dont seed in western country.
