Determine update requirements
Your device must meet the following requirements to update your software to the most current version:
- 50% or higher battery life
- Data connection
- Size of update 14.97 MB
Update software version
Update automatically over the air (OTA) for Baseband G920TUVS6FRC1
- It is recommended that you connect to Wi-Fi to complete the update.
- From the Home screen, tap Apps.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Software updates.
- Tap Download updates automatically.
- Tap Ok.
- Tap Start.
- Tap OK when the restart message appears.
Update from a computer
- Download and install Samsung Smart Switch compatible with computer from http://www.samsung.com/us/support/smart-switch-support/#!/.
- Connect Samsung USB cable to a compatible USB port on computer.
- Connect other end of the Samsung USB cable to the device.
- Allow computer to install any required drivers.
- Open Smart Switch on computer and allow it to connect.
- If a software update is available, Smart Switch automatically prompts for the update. Click Update to begin.
- Click OK to proceed. Device may turn off and on during the update and returns to the Home screen when done.
- Do not attempt the following during the update:
- Using the device
- Pressing keys
- Removing the battery
- Turning off the device.
- Disconnecting the USB cable
Issues after updating
If you experience issues after updating to the latest software version, follow these steps:
- Wipe your cache partition to make sure that all system files on your device are put back in order.
- If wiping the cache partition does not work, you may need to perform a master reset.
